Why we built Reviewdou

Short answer
Reviewdou gives small businesses in Pakistan a free review page where every review comes from a real phone number, checked by a code. We built it after a simple cake order showed how hard it is to tell which small seller is good to work with, and how scattered their reviews are.
It started with a cake
My wife wanted a custom homemade cake from a local seller. She spent a long time trying to work out who was good.
A few sellers had good reviews, but when she talked to them they were unprofessional and didn't understand what she wanted. The seller who finally got it right had fewer ratings, and sent lots of pictures back and forth.
After the delivery, the seller asked for a review on WhatsApp, and separately on Google Business.
What that order showed
- Reviews didn't show who is good to work with. The sellers with good reviews weren't the ones who listened.
- Good small sellers look weaker than they are. The best seller had fewer ratings, so they looked like the riskier choice.
- Reviews are scattered. A few in WhatsApp chats, a few on Google, a few as screenshots in highlights. No single place a new customer can check.
And this isn't only about cakes. Clothes, jewellery, skincare, gifts: a lot of buying in Pakistan now happens on Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp, and buyers keep asking sellers the same question. Can I trust you?
What Reviewdou does
Reviewdou gives every small business one page for its reviews, with rules that make them believable:
- Every reviewer confirms their phone number with a code before the review goes live.
- "Ordered from" badge: when the seller sends a customer a personal review link after an order, that review shows it.
- Sellers can't edit or delete reviews. They can reply in public, so buyers see both sides.
- Anyone can report a review. Our team checks every report, and the review stays up while we look.
- Reviewers' numbers stay private. The seller sees only the last 3 digits, to match a review to an order.
