Privacy policy

Who we are

Reviewdou is run by Jahanzaib Ramzan, in Pakistan. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Reviewdou and its owner. Questions go to support@reviewdou.pk.

What we collect

We collect only what Reviewdou needs to work:

• Your mobile number, to send your login code and to keep one account per number.
• Your name, as you type it.
• Reviews, ratings, replies and photos you post. We remove location and camera details from every photo before we store it.
• For sellers: business name, first name, category, city, logo, WhatsApp number and Instagram handle, as you enter them.
• Reports you send, with the reason and any note.
• A scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, used only to stop abuse such as too many code requests.

We don't use advertising trackers, and we never sell your data.

How we use it

• To send login codes and keep you signed in.
• To show reviews on the seller's page and in search.
• To let a seller match a review to an order, using the last 3 digits of the reviewer's number.
• To check reports and keep reviews honest.
• To count how many new customers reviewed a seller each month, for the Free plan's allowance.
• To tell you about your account, for example when a report about your review is decided.

What other people see

• Your phone number is never shown on a public page.
• The seller you review sees only the last 3 digits of your number, to match your review to an order.
• Your name, rating, review, photos and the date are public on the seller's page.
• Your reviews of one seller are grouped together. Public pages don't link your reviews of different sellers.
• Nobody is told who reported a review.

Sharing reviews

When you post a review, you agree that it is shown on the seller's Reviewdou page, and that the seller can share it as a picture (a "story card") on WhatsApp Status, Instagram and similar places. A story card shows your name, rating and words exactly as written, never your phone number.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the companies that run parts of Reviewdou for us, and only what each one needs:

• Vercel, which runs our website.
• Google Firebase, which stores our data on servers in Mumbai, India.
• SendPK, a Pakistani SMS company, which delivers login codes. It gets your number and the code.

We may also share information when Pakistani law requires it, or to protect people from fraud or harm.

Cookies

We use two cookies. Both are needed for the site to work; neither tracks you for advertising.

• A sign-in cookie, so you don't need a new code on every visit. It lasts up to 12 months, or until you log out.
• A photo cookie, which links photos you add to a review to you before you confirm your number. It lasts 7 days.

Your browser also saves an unfinished review on your own device, so you don't lose it.

How long we keep it

• Login codes expire after 5 minutes.
• Photos that are uploaded but never posted are deleted within a day.
• Reviews stay up while the seller's page exists. If a seller leaves, the page goes offline but the reviews are kept, so a business can't erase its reviews by leaving.
• Account details stay until you ask us to delete them.

Your choices

• Edit or remove your own review at any time, from the review on the seller's page.
• Ask for a copy of your data, or for us to correct it.
• Ask us to delete your account and the reviews you posted. We may keep a short record where the law requires it, or to deal with abuse.

Email support@reviewdou.pk from any address. We'll confirm the request comes from you, usually with a code sent to your number, and reply within 30 days.

Age

Reviewdou is for people aged 18 and over.

Security

Everything travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and only our server can read the database. No system is perfectly safe, so never share your login code with anyone, including people who say they're from Reviewdou.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. We'll tell you on the site about important changes before they apply.
